Eco Friendly Flooring Ideas

Have you thought about eco-friendly flooring? Not sure it has the style you want?

Today I will showcase several flooring options to change your mind.
Manufacturers have so many fabulous styles in almost every type of flooring that is earth friendly.
They can be made of recycled materials, low chemicals, sustainable materials and so much more.
But all with style!

Below I show you how beautiful they look in the rooms and then offer many great resources too.
So, check out these amazing flooring ideas and let me know your favorite.

One of the best flooring choices is bamboo. This material is super sustainable and easy to care for too! Great for kitchens.

Simple Floors Premium Green Bamboo- $2.92/sq ft.

I love the look of mixing up the colors in tiles.
This gives an old world feeling to your space.
Just chose your main color and then add in some accent tiles for extra style.

Eco Friendly Flooring Tiles- $70/sq ft

Didn't think you could have soft eco-friendly flooring?
Here you go. Wall to wall carpet can be environmental friendly by using low odor chemicals which help with allergies. You can even get eco-friendly padding for underneath. And they come in commercial grade for businesses too.

Shaw Floors Sweet Feeling Carpeting- $6.50-7.50/sq ft

Don't forget about area rugs. They can also be environmentally friendly. Like this one from Shaw's EverTouch® recyclable nylon. Stylish and eco-conscious too!

Shaw Floors Painted Palms Area Rugs
They offer many different styles and colors. Prices Vary.

You might have known that cork flooring is very soft underfoot but did you know that it is also anti-microbial? And it is also the most sustainable and non- toxic.
I would say that is a healthy flooring choice!

Green Floors Cork Tiles- $4.50/sq ft

Mannington Kasbah River Rock Fiberglass Flooring - SHD100
This fiberglass flooring is by Sobella. It is soft and comfortable underfoot, beautiful, durable, and low-maintenance.
What more could you ask for from an eco-friendly floor?

Grass Rugs

Nothing says SPRING more than fresh green grass. So I thought I would find a few rooms that could bring that inspiration into your home.

Some of the looks are more modern but others are still very traditional. It is not only the type of material in the rug but also how it is used to create the effect of "grass" in your room.

Check out these really cool ideas to bring spring grass into your space.
___________________________

This idea is used outdoors but you can use the concept inside as well.
A great way to add softness to concrete, tile or even wood flooring!

This is truly a way to bring the outdoors in!
I love all the different tones of green used in this bedroom design.
Bringing a real tree in the room helps add to the overall effect plus the really cool "grass looking" rug.

What an amazing work space below. This will get your creative juices flowing for sure!
You can achieve the rug look by visiting your local carpet store,
choosing a green carpet and have them bind it in a round form.
And take note of the custom "rock stools".

You can use the same idea as above to "get the rug". But this inspiration is in a children's room.
I can think of so many themed rooms  to use this rug idea.

How simple yet fabulous is this room?
Just by adding a green rug in this dining room with neutral colors gives you instant outdoor feel.

Do you want to wake up your closet?
Here is a wonderful solution....go green and feel like you have transported yourself every morning.
And yes, I know we'd all love to have the closet too!

Are you inspired now? I think this is a fun and whimsical way to freshen up your room.
For not a lot of money, you can create a natural look in your own home.

HAPPY DECORATING!

A fresh color scheme to add to your home is purple and green! And spring is the perfect time for you to find great items in the marketplace and online.

These to colors work so well together. They are analogous colors as they fall next to each other on the color wheel. They are both considered cool colors so they will add a sense of  calm and relaxation. Depending on the intensity of the color will determine how your space will make you feel.

Here are some inspirational rooms to either calm you or bring your room to life!

As you can see, purple and green work so well together. From rich, bold colors to softer tones too. You can mix these two colors up in so many different ways. I hope these rooms inspired you to try out this great color scheme!

Let RED make your room POP!

With Valentine's just around the corner..here are a few fabulous pops of red to add to your rooms.
Some will be easy to change up in your own home, no matter if you are a DIY kind of person or not. But others are more risky. It all depends on your style, budget and how much pop you want in your home. I hope these rooms inspire you to bring in the FABULOUS RED into your home.

Do you have a tired old dining room table? Paint it cherry red for drama.

How about painting your kitchen island red? It will look like a piece of furniture.

Add a fabulous red headboard (leather in this case) to turn your neutral bedroom into hotel chic!

Simple red drum shades over the kitchen table will add style and color. And the eye continues to more pops of color with the red sofas in the family room.

Want to REALLY make a statement? Why not red lacquered cabinets!

Here's another kitchen with the power of red.

Are you more classic in design? Nothing says it more than a leather tufted sofa.
That takes it to the next level...don't you think?

Look how the red leather chair and ottoman pop is this library.

Simple to do...add red dining room chairs for instant drama. The fabric helps too!

For an ultra modern bath, choose red lacquered cabinets.

So go ahead, TELL ME YOUR FAVORITE ROOM!

Fall Inspired Bedrooms

We all want a warm and cozy bedroom. Fall colors are a perfect way to make this happen. Look outside to the beautiful leaves on the trees, the weathered barns, the rocks in the streams. All of these can offer you the color palette you need to create your bedroom. So if you are designing your master bedroom or even a guest room, here are some rooms to guide you!

The rustic barn wood in the nightstands and heaboard set the tone for "refined rustic". By adding a colorful stripe bedding, you add the life to the room. Simple lamps and artwork keep the room restful.
This is a modern way to transform your room with fall color. Starting off with the orange padded headboard and footboard. This sets the tone for the room and color scheme. Keeping the linens simple as well as the lamp are the best choice. As you can see, the showstopper is the mural of leaves. What better way to add that fall touch!
Another modern room with fall color. Rich reds, oranges and golds are the choice in this bedroom. Notice again simple accessories. The main design element in this room is the wooden ceiling treatment. How stunning. The design also hosts a large, wooden framed mirror over the bed. This helps reflects the beautiful outdoor landscape.
I love this room. Simple wood furniture with clean lines. Notice the texture in the bedding in the throw and the pillows. With the mercury glass lamp and printed pillows, this room has an exoctic feel. The true fall element in this room are the prints above the bed.

Do you wat to try and recreate the artwork?
Real leaves can be decoupaged onto canvas. It's that simple. Just remember to choose large enough leaves or have a collection to show off. Not that crafty? Why not take pictures of some in your own yard and blow them up and frame them.

I would love to see your FALL DESIGN in your own home.
